PARTY SONGS BEFORE WINTER

This year, the Estonian Drama Theatre's Christmas production is based on extracts of Selma Lagerlof's novel "The Saga of Gosta Berling" and Carl Michael Bellman's songs. The production, which lasts a little over an hour, encompasses singing, dancing, love and a little bit of sadness. But don't worry, it's not a melancholy affair 's most of the production will warm you with holiday cheer.

THE DREAM OF SALAMANDER

In the Middle Ages it was believed that the salamander 's that slimy little amphibian - was the symbol of augury and alchemy. Now there's a good theme for modern dance. Don't think so? Well choreographer Valentinas Masalskis and composer Marius Baranauskas surely did. "The Dream of Salamander" is a spectacular synthesis of music and choreography, wound together around the creature's archaic symbolism.
