VILNIUS - The Turkish Minister of State for Economy Ali Babacan, who is also the country's chief negotiator with the European Union, is coming to Vilnius today [Dec. 8].
His agenda in Lithuania includes meetings with Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, members of parliamentary committees of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Economy Minister Vytas Navickas, Foreign Minister Petras Vaitiekunas and top executives of the Lithuanian Industrialists' Confederation, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry has reported.
According to the press release, the meeting with Vaitiekunas should address Turkey's EU accession negotiations and prospects of the country's integration into the Community as well as the development of bilateral economic, political ties and further cooperation.
Before coming to Vilnius, Babacan also visited Slovakia, Estonia and Latvia.
