The Riga City Ziemelu District Court on Nov. 14 issued a warning to two people who had staged an unauthorized picket against the use of bearskins in headdresses among the British National Guard during Elizabeth II's visit to Latvia last month.
Defendant Marina Slaikovska, 20, pled not guilty. She said her actions were insignificant as "there was nothing provocative about it and the public order was not disturbed."
Defendant Ainars Rusins, 21, also pled not guilty. He cited his right to authorized rallies, processions and pickets as outlined in the Latvian constitution.
