RIGA - The Latvian government has decided to take all the steps necessary in order to become the sole owner of the Lattelecom telecommunications company, Economics Minister Aigars Stokenbergs told the press. The minister said the acquisition would terminate an umbrella agreement signed in the early '90s between Latvia and the Scandinavian telecommunications concern TeliaSonera.According to Stokenbergs, the planned valuation of Lattelecom and the partly state-owned mobile operator Latvijas Mobilais Telefons is currently underway.
