Three people died, and three people are in intensive care, after a fire broke out in an abandoned building in the Talsa region of Latvia. The fire occurred at 9.13 p.m. near Vilkumuiza Lake on Sept. 20, and spread out to engulf about 150 square meters in flames. Dzintars Legzdins, a representative of the local fire brigade, said that bums frequented the building and that smoking in bed was most likely the cause of the fire. "All the saved people were under the influence of alcohol," added Legzdins. The three victims have not yet been identified, two people burnt completely, and the third victim is said to be about 40-50 years old.
