TALLINN - In a lengthy interview published the Wednesday edition of the Center Party's Kesknadal weekly newspaper, party leader Edgar Savisaar said that choosing the next Estonian president would be a choice between domestic peace and violence.
"One may say that on Sept. 23 [the day of elections] we will be choosing not the president, but the future," Savisaar said.
He added that it was up to Electoral College members, who will elect the president, to decide for which future they vote.
"Maybe I'm seeing a ghost, but I cannot rule out that on Sept. 22 and 23 there will be a wish to bring politics to the streets 'to do justice,"' he said.
