For the love of a good meal

A place that really stands out: has a gimmick and good food and it is a joy to simply be there.

Food comforts us. It makes us feel good. We enjoy it. And the search for a good place to eat - beyond mom's kitchen - is a constant challenge. Creatures of habit, once we find a good place, we rarely stray. In the Baltics, you will find countless eateries of varying quality.

The sad truth, however, as with anywhere else is that few of them stand out as exceptionally good. Once in a while, however, a place appears that really stands out. This kind of place has both a gimmick and good food and it is a joy to simply be there. Finding these kind of places means taking a risk. It means getting out there and trying something off the beaten path. And whether you judge the place from the service, number of locals who frequent it or the tasteful decor within, one thing is clear: the bottom line is always the food. So get out there. Try something new each week. Chances are you will hit and miss, but the good places are worth the search.
