John A. Cloud 's new US ambassador to Lithuania

VILNIUS 's New United States Ambassador-Designate to Lithuania, John A. Cloud, arrived in Vilnius on Aug.10, BNS reported.
According to the US Embassy in Vilnius, the new ambassador will present his credentials to Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus on Aug. 17.
The US Senate officially confirmed Cloud as the ambassador to Lithuania in late May. He was sworn-in by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in July.
Cloud, a career member of the US Foreign Service, is considered one of the most experienced diplomatic service representatives. He has previously served as deputy chief of Mission at the US embassies in Germany and Poland. He also worked as special assistant to the president and senior director for International Economic Affairs on the National Security Council staff and as an economics counselor at the US Embassy in Bonn, Germany.
