Latvian Security Police investigators had found that the No Pride movement, whose activists attacked participants in a recent gay pride festival in Riga, had been funded by individual sponsors, Latvian Interior Minister Dzintars Jaundzeikars said.
Jaundzeikars said there were no violations regarding the financing of No Pride. "It is legal to pay for everything, there is nothing illegitimate in this," he said.
New Generation, a Christian sect thought to be behind the gay bashing attacks, did not appear in any documents, Jaundzeikars said.
