A friendly tradition

For me and my friends, a good summer cannot be complete without a canoe trip on one of the many rivers in Latvia. We do it without exception each year 's each trip is a unique adventure completely different from the year before. One of my favorite trips was in western Latvia on the Irbe River. This winding stream takes paddlers through an endless meandering route of forest and deep gullies before widening out and dumping paddlers ceremoniously into the sea near Kolka.
