VILNIUS - Traffic police stopped a British diplomat who was driving while intoxicated on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Lietuvos Rytas daily newspaper, other drivers informed the police about a car with diplomatic license plates swerving dangerously on the streets of Antakalnis.
A breathalyzer estimated the blood alcohol concentration of Stephen Robert Price, vice-consul of the British embassy, at about 1.5 permilles.
The intoxicated driver had to leave his car on the roadside. The car was taken away by embassy employees. The diplomat did not argue with police officers.
Price will not be punished in Lithuania, as he is protected by diplomatic immunity.
