Latvian choir to sing in China

RIGA - Riga Technical University's male choir, Gaudeamus, will travel to Xiamen, China for the 4th World Choir Games July 23-27, the choir's artistic head, Ivars Cinkuss, said.
Gaudeamus is one of 12 choirs shortlisted for participation in special evening concerts. The goal of the program is to introduce the repertoire and style of various international choirs.
The Latvian men's choir is also scheduled to participate in a competition that will be held within the Choir Games.
After the Choir Games, Gaudeamus will sing at Beijing's City Concert Hall. The performance will be dedicated to the 15th anniversary since Latvia and China established diplomatic relations.
The World Choir Games are held once every four years, and this year the event will include more than 400 choirs from around the world.
