Latvian President greets Bratislava

BRATISLAVA - An official welcoming ceremony for Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga was held today in the Slovak capital Bratislava. Despite sweltering temperatures of more than 30 degrees Celcius, several dozens of people attended the ceremony.
The president is scheduled to meet her Slovak counterpart Ivan Gasparovic later today. On July 7, she will have a working lunch with the Slovak prime minister and attend the Latvian-Slovak business forum. Vike-Freiberga will also deliver a lecture at the Slovak Foreign Policy Association.
The president is accompanied by Latvian Economics Minister Aigars Stokenbergs, e-Affairs Minister Ina Gudele and Riga City Mayor Aivars Aksenoks, who have separate agendas for the trip.
