Artforms and masterpieces

We love art. We really do. And luckily, there isn't a shortage of art or artists in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. A quick glance at any guide book will net you a surprising number of galleries, museums and exhibitions each featuring a painter, sculptor, potter or otherwise creative individual who has devoted their life to the expression of their talent.

This week we feature three places worth a visit. Those from Estonia may not be surprised to see Kumu as a choice of places to see. This you may say is an obvious place, so why has it been chosen? It was chosen precisely because it is so good and because those of us living in Latvia and Lithuania should see it as well. As for Lithuania, the discovery of a gem hidden in a corner of a courtyard behind a city wall provides enough mystery to make any explorer drool. And for Latvia, an outdoor museum of the most grassroots kind provides us all with a little needed inspiration and motivation to get out of the city.
We love art. I know I do. In all forms. And the Baltics do art well. Get out there and find some gems of your own.
Have fun!
