Estonia's Ministry of Economy and Communications said it was preparing to file a lawsuit against Tallink, the Baltics' largest passenger shipper, in order to recoup some 30 million kroons (1.92 million euros) in unpaid lighthouse and icebreaking service fees. "The ministry's legal department decided not to deal with the matter in haste and took its time to make preparations in a thorough manner, because for a variety of reasons this is a complex lawsuit. Since the claim will start to expire only in the year 2007, there was no reason to hurry too much," the ministry was quoted as saying.
Hungary's bargain airline Wizz Air announced it would pull out of Kaunas Airport in September due to low demand for flights. Kestutis Cucenas, Kaunas Airport CEO, said the airport was trying to convince Wizz Air to continue operating out of Kaunas, which is trying to revive its airport. Cucenas said the rise in passenger handling on Wizz Air's new routes was probably less than the company had expected; however, the number of passengers on those routes increased, he added. Ryanair, the Irish budget carrier, has well established itself at the airport, constantly expanding the geography of flights and offering new routes.
