ROME - Bishops from the Baltic states enjoyed an audience with Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican on June 23.
A group of representatives from the Catholic Church in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania traveled to Rome to meet the Pope and visit the graves of St Peter and St Paul.
Benedict XVI thanked all Baltic cardinals, particularly Riga Archbishop Cardinal Janis Pujats and Kaunas Archbishop Sigitas Tamkevicius. The papal speech focused on family as a topic of utmost importance for the Baltic countries.
