RIGA - Latvians will celebrate the Midsummer sunrise with a traditional nude run.
A group of about twenty naked runners race across a short course to mark the longest day of the year. Participants have traditionally all been men as women have not shown any interest.
Organizers said the nude run will take place at the open air art museum in Pedvale in western Latvia.
The start is scheduled for 4.30am on June 24, but the route will be kept a secret until the last minute.
The Midsummer celebrations will also include a fire sculpture by Latvian artist Ojars Feldbergs. The artist will burn sculptures from eight six-meter long fir tree logs.
Dance artist Sanna Karlsson-Sutisna will also perform a Midsummer fire ritual dance at Pedvale.
