Latvia to strengthen student exchange with U.S.A.

RIGA - Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks met with Buffalo University president John B. Simpson June 7, and expressed Latvia's interest in expanding successful cooperation with the U.S. in education and science.
The minister praised ongoing cooperation between Buffalo University and the Riga Business School, and said that Latvia was particularly interested strengthening cooperation in engineering sciences and other areas of technology, reported the ministry.
Latvia is also interested in signing an agreement with the United States about promoting education, Pabriks said.
Pabriks and Simpson agreed that higher education no longer was limited to national borders, and both countries could benefit greatly from student exchange.
