VILNIUS 's The U.S. Senate's move to support visa-free travel for Polish citizens to the United States has "broken the ice" for Lithuanians, Lithuanian Ambassador to the United States Vygaudas Usackas said.
"Poles changed the Senate's way of thinking. This precedent gives us more possibilities in our effort to achieve visa-free travel to the United States," said Usackas.
On May 17, the U.S. Senate passed amendments to the immigration reform law, including Poland into the visa-free tourist program for two years. The amendments must still be approved by the House of Representatives and the presidents.
If the program is approved, Polish tourists will be allowed to enter the United States without visas and stay for 60 days.
