The parliamentary faction of Estonia's Reform Party elected Jaanus Tamkivi to serve as its new parliamentary chair on May 9.
Tamkivi was backed by all members of the party, according to party spokespeople. He replaces Maret Maripuu who was elected deputy speaker of parliament.
"I have been elected to parliament from the Saare, Hiiu and Laane counties, and I believe that by doing parliamentary work I can best contribute to the development of that region," Tamkivi said.
