Will Stephen Spielberg be the next Simon Cowell? According to the April 7 edition of The Guardian, Spielberg has signed on to a new reality show, "On the Lot," which will search for filmmaking talent.
Just as "American Idol" whittles down contestants on a week to week basis in search of the next Mariah Carey or Celine Dion, "On the Lot" will whittle down film directors based on different short films they show each week, in order to find the next, well, Spielberg.
