Lithuania has asked leaders in Brussels to quickly approve European Union energy connections by the end of 2006.
Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis made the proposal at a meeting of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council on March 20, according to the ministry.
The Baltic states' integration into the EU energy market should be a top priority, Valionis said.
