David Chase, the creator of arguably the most complex and violent drama in the history of television, "The Sopranos," said in an interview with The New York Times published on Feb. 26, that the show will end next year. Tony Soprano, the show's hero played by James Gandolfini, is heard to remark in a 2002 episode that there are only two ends for "guys like me," death or jail. So how will "The Sopranos" end? "[Chase] told me one thing," says Gandolfini. "But I think it's different now."
