Dead duck keeps bird flu scare alive

Lithuania underwent another bird flu scare this week after a dead duck found in Telsiai was taken to Vilnius for tests by the State Food and Veterinary Service. "The final test results will be available Monday afternoon [Feb. 20], but so far all of them have been 'negative.'" State Food and Veterinary Service Director Kazimieras Lukauskas told the Baltic News Service. "Twenty-seven dead birds have been examined over the past four days, with no bird flu cases reported.
