Parnu man in court on deportation charges

TALLINN - A former NKVD official suspected of taking part in Soviet-era mass deportations has appeared in court charged with crimes against humanity. Mikhail Neverovski, 79, is charged with helping in the deportation of 279 people and personally rounding up three families from the Parnu region. According to the charges, Neverovski, who lives in Parnu, checked how many people were in the families and where they were living at the time the deportations were being prepared.
