VILNIUS - Lithuania's Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis said he supported Ukrainian membership in NATO and called on Russia to pull its troops out of Moldova at a NATO-Russia meeting in Brussels Dec. 9. While lauding removal of Russian troops from Georgia, Valionis said a similar withdrawal from Moldova was also necessary.

"Lithuania believes, that Ukraine should have a clear perspective of Alliance membership. The launch of the membership action plan would be a consequent step on the Ukraine's way to NATO. Undoubtedly Ukrainian authorities should continue reforms," Lithuanian Foreign Minister said in a press release.
