VILNIUS 's Lithuania, Sweden and Russia signed a governmental agreement at the Foreign Ministry in Vilnius to determine the intersection point of the Baltic Sea's exceptional economic zones and continental shelf.

The intersection point lies in the middle of the sea, in the Gotland trench some 141 kilometers from the coastline.

Now that an agreement has been signed, a legal delimitation of the economic zone and continental shelf from the Swedish fishing zone and continental shelf will begin.
