Warner Bros has made film history after successfully completing a digital transmission of a film from California to Japanese theaters via fibre optics.
The studio announced the results of a test transmission of Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride" into three sites in Japan. The digital files complied with industry standards recently established by the Digital Cinemas Initiative, a consortium of studios and digital cinema advocates that was set up over three years ago to save studios on distribution and print costs and offer a safeguard against piracy.
