Latvia's one and only Minhauzen Museum provides a glimpse into the famous baron's Baltic manor house.
Known for his tall tales, the "king of fantasies" used to reside in Vidzeme, not far from the town of Limbazi. Today, a 4.5 kilometer-long wooden path has been built, winding from the baron's house, through a thick stretch of woods to Vidzeme's beautiful ocean shore. After the refreshing walk, you can relax in the museum's cafe or take a tour of Minhauzen's fantasy-filled, topsy-turvy house. The museum is located 60 kilometers from Riga, just north of Limbazi.
