VILNIUS - State Border Guard Service Commander, General Saulius Stripeika, and Belarusian State Border Committee Chairman Alexander Pavlovski signed an official high-border representative agreement in Grodno on Oct. 27.

As a result, Belarus will become Lithuania's third neighbor after Latvia and Poland, with whom the country has a legal institution of high-border representatives.

Meanwhile, a similar agreement is being prepared between Lithuania and Russia, and will be signed by Stripeika.

High-border representatives' main aim is to ensure security and order, assess border-protection problems and take joint action in tackling topical issues.
