Rehn: talks with Turkey must start

RFE/RL - More than two-thirds of Latvia's population support further EU enlargement and would most gladly see Norway and Switzerland join the Union, while most Latvians showed a negative attitude about possible Turkish membership. According to a Eurobarometer poll, 64 percent of respondents in Latvia support further EU enlargement, which is some 15 percent more than in other EU member states on average. However, only 36 percent would approve of EU membership for Albania and Turkey and 38 percent would back EU accession by Serbia and Montenegro. President Vaira Vike-Freiberga said at the end...
