VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus sent a letter of condolence to his U.S. colleague on the massive death and destruction caused by hurricane Katrina on the Gulf of Mexico.
"A catastrophe such as this causes unspeakable pain to families of victims of the natural disaster and is a big challenge to all Americans, standing firm and united in the face of calamity. I wish you strength and success in dealing with the aftermath of the catastrophe," reads the letter to George W. Bush.
