Latvian PM pushes for visa-free travel to U.S.A.

RIGA 's In a meeting with U.S. State Department Secretary Robert Zoellick on Wednesday, Prime Minister Aigars Kalvitis discussed the possibility of holding expert consultations in Washington in the near future on the subject of visa-free travel between the two countries.

The state chancellery reported that Kalvitis and Zoellick praised work that has been performed as part of the visa-free program and that expert consultations should be organized in Washington in the near future.

The two officials also exchanged opinions on the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan and touched upon NATO air space patrolling in the Baltic states.
