TALLINN 's Tallinn Mayor Tonis Palts said he sees no reason to prevent the construction of a monument to Azeri eye doctor Zarifa Aliyeva next to the Tallinn Eye Clinic.
At a meeting Monday morning Palts said there was no reason to forbid or obstruct the monument if the applicant 's in this case, the Association of Turkic and Caucasian Peoples of Europe 's was acting in accordance to the law, Jaano-Martin Ots, communication officer of the city, told the Baltic News Service.
The Tallinn municipal design commission has approved erection of the monument.
Zarifa Aliyeva, who died in 1985, was the wife of the previous Azeri President Geidar Aliyev.
