TALLINN 's Estonia sent Russia a note saying that it does not find it necessary to open new border talks.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet told reporters that in its note, a response to an earlier note sent by Russia, the ministry summed up its views concerning the border treaties.

Russia's Foreign Ministry sent a note to Estonia informing it of the Russian intention to launch domestic procedures to relieve Russia of obligations springing from the border treaties signed with Estonia. The Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed the wish to then open new talks.

Paet added that after an analysis the Russian side could ratify the border treaties, which were signed by the countries' foreign ministers in May.
