The Riga Opera Festival, the first of its kind not only in the Baltics, but also in Eastern Europe, has already won the hearts and support of many listeners in its relatively short existence.

Among its fans are foreign and home critics, analysts, pundits and, most importantly, lovers of opera.

This year, to continue a tradition that enters its eighth year, the festival will show the best and latest performances of the season.

During the parade of operas, audiences will see interpretations of famous composers such as Puccini, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Handel, Janacek and Latvian Ilona Brege. Among the festival's guests will be brilliant, world-renowned singers and conductors who will surely compel their audiences.

The Riga Opera Festival has become one of the most illustrious fixtures in the Latvian cultural calendar and an event of great international significance.

The Festival will be held at the Latvian National Opera from June 8 -19.
