RIGA-An administrative court ruled on March 30 to annul the Jurmala city elections over allegations of voter fraud. The court ruling, however, may be appealed within 20 days after the full text is released on April 1.

Inese Aizstrauta, who was elected by a narrow margin to head the Jurmala City Council, said that work would continue for the municipality since the ruling had not yet come into effect.

One city council member claimed that representatives from the New Center Party had offered him 20,000 euros, a piece of property, and the position of vice-mayor to change his vote in their favor. A temporary administration board may be created for the interim.

Recently, a court also nullified the Rezekne election results over allegations of vote-buying. The decision, however, was appealed by New Center.
