New inspiring exhibition ‘Be you’ – AKROPOLE Alfa displays paintings by Anete Puriņa-Purīte

From 1 to 31 August, the exhibition hall on the 3rd floor of the shopping and entertainment centre AKROPOLE Alfa will host an exhibition of paintings by artist Anete Puriņa-Purīte with the inspiring and significant title, ‘Be you’. The artist addresses art admirers with 17 abstract paintings in mixed technique, inviting everyone to venture on. To dare to do what you might be afraid of, what you really enjoy and do best – to not be afraid to be yourself and to show the world your hidden talents.

Anete captures her emotions and moments in life in abstract forms and motifs, emphasising that she found herself through art: ‘Abstract art has given me real freedom and I want to share this great feeling, encouraging everyone to open up to the world and do what they do best. It is really hard to shed the masks that we have grown over the years, to go out ‘naked’ and not be afraid that someone will point at you. I have done it – I have fulfilled my dream of painting, and I encourage others not to be pressured by society, family or other circumstances to fulfil their dreams,’ says Anete Puriņa-Purīte.

The artist believes that everyone has their own talent, their own strengths, which give them an incredible amount of energy – you just have to be able to see them. That is why in her work Anete invites people to be brave and dare to devote valuable life lessons to self-discovery. ‘We look around too much, admiring other people and their abilities, without properly appreciating our own strengths. Sometimes without even realising that they are our strengths. But we need to focus on ourselves and realise how unique and talented each of us is, and how brightly we can shine if only we dare,’ encourages the author of ‘Be you’.

‘Art can inspire and encourage new achievements, which is why we at AKROPOLE Alfa are continuing the tradition we started a year ago and offer our visitors the opportunity to see works by talented Latvian artists every month. In August, these are the paintings of Anete Puriņa-Purīte, which fill the visitors with energy, give them something to think about and do not leave them indifferent. The title of the exhibition ‘Be you’ accurately highlights the goal of each of us – to understand our mission in life and to move towards it. I am happy to offer our visitors the opportunity to see these paintings and I hope that each viewer will be charged to take positive actions,’ says Artūrs Bernhards, manager of shopping centre AKROPOLE Alfa.

The exhibition ‘Be you’ will be open throughout August from 10:00 to 21:00 on the 3rd floor of AKROPOLE Alfa. Entrance is free.
