New Estonian foreign minister to visit Latvia this week

RIGA - Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (New Unity) will be welcoming Estonia's new Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets as she arrives in Latvia on a working visit this Wednesday, LETA was told at the Latvian Foreign Ministry. 

The meeting between the Latvian and Estonian foreign ministers is expected to focus on bilateral relations and regional cooperation, as well as the situation in Belarus and Russia. 

Rinkevics and Liimets are also scheduled to give a joint online press conference on the Zoom platform. 

During her working visit to Latvia, the Estonian foreign minister will also meet with President Egils Levits and Saeima Speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance).

Liimets took office as Estonia's foreign minister on January 26, 2021. This will be her first visit to Latvia.
