RIGA - According to information obtained by BNS, the National Alliance is considering MPs Romans Naudins and Rihards Kols, as well as Riga City Council Member Baiba Broka, as the party's Riga mayor candidates.

Broka headlined the list of candidates from the National Alliance ticket during the previous Riga City Council elections. She was elected to the Riga City Council, but the National Alliance remains in the opposition. Later, Broka was appointed justice minister in the Laimdota Straujuma (Unity) government but resigned after she was not granted access to classified information and returned to work in the City Council.

MP Naudins also serves as the chairman of the Saeima's Economic, Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Policy Committee.

Meanwhile, Kols work on the Saeima's European Affairs Committee, as well as the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Naudins is the only candidate who has confirmed that he has been asked to consider becoming the party's Riga mayor candidate.
