RIGA - NATO countries that share a common border with Ukraine should think about additional ant-air defenses, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (New Unity) told TV3 this morning.
Regarding the recent incident, when Russia once again subjected Ukraine to massive missile strikes, with a missile landing on Polish territory six kilometers from the Ukrainian border, killing two people, Rinkevics said that the incident is still under investigation, so there is no new information yet.
At the same time, it is clear - if there was no Russian invasion of Ukraine, such an incident would not have happened.
He pointed out that this is another confirmation that NATO countries, especially those bordering Ukraine, should think about additional air defenses.
Furthermore, Rinkevics emphasized that the issue of anti-air defense was also brought up in the future government's declaration - additional funds have been allocated for this purpose.
