KYIV - Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced on Twitter on Tuesday evening that he met with his new Latvian counterpart Inara Murniece (National Alliance), who arrived in Kyiv on her first visit after assuming the position of Minister of Defense.
"I had the pleasure of receiving Inara Murniece in Kyiv on her first visit as Minister of Defense of Latvia. We discussed the possibilities of how to strengthen the forces of the Ukrainian army," the Ukrainian minister wrote on Twitter next to a photo in which he is seen shaking hands with Murniece.
"We are grateful to Latvia for its firm support for Ukraine's complete victory over the aggressor," assured Reznikov.
As reported, on Tuesday, Murniece also met with the Speaker of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in Kyiv.
Murniece has visited Ukraine while serving as the Speaker of the Saeima.
