RIGA - The mothers of the two dead infants that were found dumped in rubbish in western Latvia earlier this year probably had not registered their pregnancies, Lsm.lv public service news portal reported, citing the State Police.
Police have received the results of forensic examination, but they have not helped find the culprits. One of the reasons, according to the police, is that the women apparently had not registered their pregnancies with antenatal care providers.
Medical documents and requests were sent out to all medical institutions and antenatal registers, but no matches have been found.
As reported, on March 7, the body of a dead infant was found at a landfill in Grobina parish. Later, on May 12, another dead infant was found in a waste container at the Staldzene Bluffs, Ventspils Municipality.
