RIGA - Most residents of Latvia would prefer entirely new people replacing the ruling government coalition after this year's parliamentary elections, an SKDS survey shows.

In mid-August, or a month and a half before the 14th Saeima elections, respondents were asked who they would like to see coming to power after the elections - the already existing political parties or entirely new politicians.

Most respondents, or 66 percent, said they would prefer entirely new politicians. The percentage of such respondents has not changed much during the term of the current Saeima and has been ranging between 64 and 68 percent.

Meanwhile, 15 percent of respondents in the survey said they would want the existing parties staying in power. The percentage of such respondents has increased by one percentage point over the year.

Also, 20 percent of the surveyed people were undecided.
