More than 100,000 people on November 18 watched the Independence Day fireworks display and light performance Lifetime of the Sun at the Daugava Embankment last night, said Riga City Council education, culture and sports department spokeswoman Indra Vilde.
She said that the fireworks performance was included in the national events plan of the centenary celebrations. The even could be watched in person on the November 11th Embankment and also live broadcasts were available in Latvia and abroad.
