Monthly wages and pensions to increase as of July 1

The Lithuanian Government has approved the Ministry of Social Security’s proposal to increase the minimum monthly wage to 325 euros (a 25 euro increase) as of July 15,2015. 

“This is the third minimum wage increase initiated by this government,” said Lithuanian Prime Minister, Algirdas Butkevicius. “The 2015 state budget has made an allowance of 14.4 million euros for the raise.” 

The Cabinet also decided to increase pensions as of July 2. State social insurance will increase from 105 euros to 108, while income protection insurance has risen from 431 euros to 434. 

The funds for the pension increase were provided for in the 2015 State Social Security Fund (Sodra) budget, and will cost around 22.86 million.
