Latvia’s mobile telecommunications operators have prepared their networks for the launch of an automatic emergency call system or the so called eCall.
Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT) and Tele2 completed their preparations for the launch of the eCall technology already at the beginning of last year, and Bite finished the preparations at the end of 2016.
Bite representatives said earlier that adjusting the mobile operator’s network to the eCall technology might cost an estimated EUR 20,000-30,000. Tele2 spent over EUR 20,000 on this purpose, ...
