Military exercises to take place in Kaunas

Lithuania’s Defence Ministry has confirmed a military exercise will be held in and around its second city - Kaunas.

The MoD confirmed armed vehicles will also drive on the city's streets.

The exercise is the second phase of the tactical field training exercise, which will include the spread of tactical headquarters and reconnaissance in and around the city. 

The troops will carry out operations in populated areas, and will include 400 soldiers from the Iron Wolf brigade, plus other units from the Lithuanian military. 

On Monday September 14, the first phase of the exercise took place in Rukla and the Gaiziunai training ground.
