MEPs want European Commission's financial support for Belarus to end

Members of the European Parliament, including Estonian MEP Urmas Paet, sent a letter on October 23 to European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi in which they demand that the European Commission stop the allocation of financial aid in the planned amount of 53 million euros to the state of Belarus. According to MEPs, EU money must no longer fall into the hands of the Belarussian regime. Allocations can be restored once new free elections have taken place in Belarus.
