Meldonium included in 2017 list of banned substances

MONTREAL - The World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) has released its 2017 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods, which includes meldonium, the primary ingredient used in the production of Latvian-made Mildtronate medication. WADA added meldonium, which was created in Latvia, to the prohibited list on Jan. 1 after claiming there was evidence that it was being used for performance enhancement.
